“Welcome to the Blumhouse” Horror Movie Anthology Headed for Amazon Prime This Fall

Amazon and Blumhouse have partnered up to launch eight new horror genre movies this fall under the new program they’re calling “Welcome to the Blumhouse.” The films will showcase rising stars and talent in the horror movie industry and is set to appropriately launch in October 6, just ahead of Halloween.

Jason Blum of Blumhouse Television has produced such films as Get Out, Paranormal Activity and Insidious will produce all of the eight new thrillers, with four launching this year and four more in 2021.

“We are excited to launch ‘Welcome to the Blumhouse’ with this exhilarating and provocative slate of original films for the first time ever on Prime Video,” said Julie Rapaport, co-head of movies for Amazon Studios. “This collection from diverse and emerging filmmakers was a thrill to put together with our wonderful partners at Blumhouse Television. These chilling stories have something for everyone – ready to fright and delight genre fans and newcomers alike – and we are excited to share them with our global Prime Video customers.”

Amazon have been incredible partners, linking arms and supporting the creative visions throughout the process of making these films.”

Amazon Studios will launch the first two films together on Oct. 6 – The Lie by writer/director Veena Sud (The Killing, 7 Seconds), and and Black Box from emerging writer/director Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour Jr. (Born with It).

The next two films will be released the following week on Oct. 13, with Evil Eye by directors Elan Dassani and Rajeev Dassani (A Day’s Work, Jinn) and executive produced by Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Quantico, White Tiger), Nocturne from Zu Quirke (Zugzwang, Ghosting) in her feature film debut,
