Windstream Renews Their Deal With DIRECTV NOW

Father curled up on the sofa with his two daughters. They are watching a movie with popcorn.Today it was announced that Windstream has finalized a deal to offer DIRECTV NOW the live TV streaming service to Windstream customers. This will extend the current deal with DIRECTV to not only include DIRECTV NOW but also adds the ability to sell DIRECTV satellite TV service.

This is a big win for DIRECTV as previously Windstream had been selling Dish Network as their bundle offer but more importantly, it points to the success Windstream has had with DIRECTV NOW as an add-on to their home internet service.

“DIRECTV offers a diversity of product choices that will be a great fit for our customers who want premium entertainment at great prices,” Jeff Small, president of Windstream’s consumer and small business segment, said in a statement. “Our Kinetic by Windstream customers can now enjoy quality programming coupled with cutting-edge technology. This fits perfectly with our digital entertainment strategy.”

Windstream is not the only internet only company to be offering DIRECTV NOW. Reports are flying that a growing number of internet services are starting to look at offering streaming services. Currently, fuboTV, Sling TV, PlayStation Vue, and DIRECTV NOW are all fighting to get providers like Windstream to offer their streaming services.

Look for more internet providers offering services like DIRECTV NOW in the future.
