This week Google updated their Xbox One app with 4K support and says HDR support is on the way. 4K HDR support will be added to the Xbox One S and the Xbox One X.

Currently the ability to watch 4K video is limited to the Xbox One and the Xbox One S. If you have these models you may need to update your YouTube app to take advantage of the 4K video.

Update: We are now being told this is a separate app that you need to download through the Windows Store.

This all comes days after Google announced that they will be pulling the YouTube app from the Echo Show and the Fire TV. The Echo Show already lost the YouTube app and the Fire TV will lose access to YouTube this weekend.
