Update (8:57 pm): YouTube is working again for many users. If you’re still experiencing issues, hang tight. You should be able to start watching again soon.

Update (8:49 pm): Some YouTube TV users are reporting that they’re able to watch content on the service again. Others are still experiencing issues.

Both YouTube and YouTube TV are experiencing widespread outages around the world. While many viewers on social media have been restarting their routers and checking their Wifi, if you’re experiencing an issue, it’s not just you or your internet.

Team YouTube is aware of the problem and working on a solution, sharing in a tweet, “If you’re having trouble watching videos on YouTube right now, you’re not alone – our team is aware of the issue and working on a fix. We’ll follow up here with any updates.”

Reports of the sites being down have been coming in for over an hour, with reports spiking right around 7 pm ET. Users are experiencing a spinning wheel when trying to play videos on YouTube.

We’ll be back with an update when YouTube shares more information or when the services are back online. In the meantime, check Down Detector for updates.
