Google announced today the launch of YouTube Kids on Apple TV. Families can now download the YouTube Kids app from the App Store to view with the Gen 4 and Gen 5 4K versions of the Apple TV.
The YouTube Kids app works with the Siri Remote, allowing users to start it up by saying “Hey Siri, open YouTube Kids.” For those who have already used YouTube Kids on other platforms, account preferences including parental controls will carry over to the Apple TV app.
Since launching in 2015, YouTube Kids has added features, content, and improved parental controls, along with addressing privacy concerns, to create a safe and entertaining experience for kids while giving parents peace of mind in allowing kids to use the app on their own.
To get started with YouTube Kids on your Apple TV, open the App Store from your Home screen. Search for YouTube Kids and download the app. You can choose to sign in with an existing account, create a new account, or use the app without a Google account (only in the US and a few other countries around the world.)
