youtube tv logoYouTube TV subscribers have noticed a change while watching live TV on the streaming platform. Instead of blank screens during commercial breaks with unsold ad space, YouTube TV is now inserting screensavers.

The photos used during the ad breaks are nature scenes, with viewers commenting that they’re seeing beach views, forests, and streams while waiting for their shows, movies, and live events to start up again. The serene scenes are a welcome change from the plain black screens or “we’ll be right back” messages we’ve been used to seeing.

One Reddit poster even suggested that YouTube create an entire channel of the screensavers, giving viewers a calming and relaxing visual to keep on in the background.

These screens are, of course, only placeholders until YouTube TV can sell more ad space and fill the short breaks with something more profitable. In the meantime, subscribers seem to be happy with the change.
