Update: YouTube TV and NBCUniversal Are Close to Finalizing Carriage Deal to Keep NBC Channels

Just before the deadline for YouTube TV and NBCUniversal to make a decision on whether or not to renew the carriage agreement for NBC channels on YouTube TV last night, the two agreed to a short-term extension. A source now says that the extension is set to expire at 9 pm tonight.

At that time, one of three things will happen. Either YouTube TV and NBCUniversal will come to an agreement to keep the channels on the streaming service, negotiations will continue with another extension, or an agreement will not be reached and the channels will go dark.

If YouTube TV and NBC are unable to come to an agreement after the extension, YouTube TV subscribers will no longer have access to the following channels: NBC, Bravo, CNBC, E!, Golf Channel, MSNBC, Oxygen, SYFY, Telemundo, The Olympic Channel, Universal Kids, Universo, and USA Network, as well as NBC Sports Regional Networks.

Subscribers who choose to leave YouTube TV can watch some sports and shows from NBC’s networks including NBC, USA, Bravo, and Oxygen with a subscription to Peacock. To get all of the 14 channels that will be removed, subscribers can switch to Hulu with Live or fuboTV.
