When Did YouTube TV Add PBS?

YouTube TV first announced that it would be adding PBS stations last summer. PBS and PBS Kids went live in select markets in December 2019.

“We are excited to partner with PBS on this unique partnership to further our commitment to providing a best-in-class experience for our users,” said Lori Conkling, Global Head of Partnerships at YouTube TV. “PBS and PBS KIDS are highly requested channels by our users, and we’re thrilled to be able to add these to the YouTube TV lineup starting today.”

Can I Record Content to Watch Later?

A YouTube TV subscription comes with a Cloud DVR with unlimited storage. You can record shows simultaneously and watch from any of your devices.

What’s New With The YouTube TV DVR?

Recently YouTube TV removed all restrictions that would have forced you to watch the on-demand version of a recorded program. Now you can always fast forward through comercials with a DVRed program.

What’s New for Sports Fans with YouTube TV?

Recently YouTube TV added a feature called Key Plays. This new feature will allow YouTube TV subscribers to watch a condensed version of DVRed sporting events. Instead of watching a two-hour basketball game or a three-plus-hour football game YouTube will automatically create a custom list of the must-see plays from the game, which allows you to watch the important points in a fraction of the time.

Recently on YouTube supercuts of sporting events have become hugely popular with networks like ESPN and FS1 putting extended highlights of sporting events up for fans. Now YouTube TV is jumping in the game in an effort to attract sports fans to subscribe.

New YouTube TV Guide!

Right now YouTube TV is testing a new guide. Currently, on streaming players you can only go forward 4 hours but on the YouTube TV website, you can go forward several days. YouTube says they are testing this out and hopefully it comes to Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, and more soon.

Can the Whole Family Watch at the Same Time?

YouTube TV allows you to stream simultaneously on up to 3 devices. You’ll also have the option to set up 6 profiles for each account, so everyone in the family can personalize their profile with their favorite content.

Is YouTube TV a Good Alternative to PlayStation Vue?

With PlayStation Vue shutting down at the end of this month, we know viewers are looking for a new option for live TV, including sports, news, and entertainment. Sony recently sent an email to PS Vue subscribers, recommending YouTube TV as that replacement. We compared the two services in this post.
