YouTube TV is Now Available on The PlayStation 4

youtube tv logoToday YouTube TV was added to the PlayStation 4. You can find it HERE. Cord Cutters News first reported that YouTube TV would be coming to Playstation 4 over the weekend; now it has become a reality. For now, YouTube TV only supports the PlayStation 4 so if you have a PlayStation 3, you are out of luck.

According to sources inside Sony, the rights to be the recommended replacement of PlayStation Vue and rights to have your app added to the PlayStation 4 were put up for sale recently. We already knew that Google won the rights for YouTube TV to be the recommended replacement for PlayStation Vue, but the question now is will YouTube TV also be the first new app to appear on the PlayStation 4. For now, all signs point to Sony having agreed to add YouTube TV to the PlayStation 4 first.

A few months ago we learned that Sony had put up rights to get access to PlayStation Vue’s 500,000 subscribers up for bidding. The winner was to be picked last back in December and recently Sony has started to promote YouTube TV as a replacement service for PlayStation Vue. According to sources inside Sony, Cord Cutters News learned that Sony was selling the ability to market directly to PlayStation Vue subscribers through a bidding process. Now it seems that this deal did also include rights to be first on the PlayStation 4. Hopefully, PlayStation 3 support will come soon.
