PBSFor months now, YouTube TV has been preparing to add PBS and PBS Kids to its lineup. Now it seems that PBS may almost be ready to go live as cover art, and a rotating image slide is now available on YouTube TV. At first, PBS was to go live in early November, but YouTube TV and PBS delayed the launch for a “few weeks” to make sure PBS stations would be ready. Now it seems that YouTube TV is very close to launching as images promoting PBS on YouTube TV are now showing up on YouTube TV’s website.

Thanks to a link shared on Reddit we now know that YouTube TV has uploaded images to promote the new PBS channel on YouTube TV for subscribers. (You must be logged into YouTube TV for that link to work.) Here is what that looks like if you don’t have a YouTube TV account:

Multiple PBS stations have confirmed that they will be live on YouTube TV by the end of December. With less than three weeks left until the start of 2020, it seems that YouTube TV is extremely close to launching PBS on YouTube TV.

“We’re excited to launch our very first local livestream on YouTube TV,” said PBS Chief Digital and Marketing Officer Ira Rubenstein when this deal was first announced. “Our goal is to reach as many Americans as possible with content that educates, inspires and entertains. As a broadcaster that is rooted in communities, we appreciate YouTube’s commitment to local content, and we are pleased that this service provides audiences with access to programming that is produced and distributed by our member stations.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with PBS to introduce both the PBS and PBS KIDS channels to YouTube TV,” said Lori Conkling, global head of partnerships at YouTube when this deal was first announced. “Audiences of all ages love and trust PBS, and today’s announcement demonstrates our commitment to delivering the best possible lineup for our subscribers.”
